How do I add a review?
Adding a new review to our site is quick and easy. First, you need to find the barn's listing page that you would like to review (I can't find a barn, how do I add one?). To do that you can either search for the barn's name in the search box on the top of each page, or you can click on the Stable Reviews link to select a state. Once you have selected a state, all the barns in that state will appear in alphabetical order. Click on the barn you would like to review to see its listing page. Once there, scroll down to where it says Reviews for [barn name]. On the right of that is a button that says Add your own review. Click it and you'll be taken to a form where you can submit your review.
I can't find the barn I want to review. How do I add it?
If you can't find a barn, you can add it to our database and review it right after. Click on the Stable Reviews link at the top of the page to select the state in which the barn is located. Once you have verified that the barn is not listed on that page, you can click the large Can't find a stable? button on the top right of the page, or the small add a stable link after each alphabetical section (or click here to add a stable). This will take you to a form that allows you to submit information on the barn you would like to add.
How long does it take to approve my review?
If a review meets our review guidelines, we will approve it within 48 hours or less and it will appear on Horse Stable Review. If your review does not appear on the site after 3 days, you can contact us to inquire about its status.
What review guidelines do I have to follow?
We have certain review guidelines that have to be met for a barn review to be approved and posted on our website. Those guidelines are the following:
- Do NOT lie, because that is defamation and you can be prosecuted for it.
- Do NOT use foul language and don't call anyone names.
- Do NOT accuse anyone of a crime. If someone is breaking the law, talk to the police, not us.
- Include constructive comments that will help other equestrians.
- You may state your opinion and share your past experiences, as long as it is the truth.
- Be respectful.
If your review violates any of these guidelines, we reserve the right to deny your review from appearing on our site. We do this for both your and our protection from legal action.
Do I have to give you my real name and email to leave a review?
No, you can stay completely anonymous if you so choose. Your email address will never be made public or given out to anyone and only serves as a way for us to contact you in case there is a problem with your review. If you are concerned about your privacy, you can catch up on our privacy policy here.
How do I manage my stable listing?
If you are the owner or manager of a stable listed on our website, you can sign up to manage that listing for free. Go to the owner sign-up page to register. Please make sure you submit your real first and last name and preferably the stable's official email address to expedite the approval process. Once we have approved your request, you will receive an email from us with a link that we ask you to click to verify your email address. After your email address is verified, you can log into your stable owner/manager account, where you can update the information in your listing, respond to reviews, or change your password.
How long does it take to approve my stable owner account?
We generally approve accounts within 48 hours or less. You can expedite the process by using your official barn email at signup and providing us with your full name.
Someone left me a negative review. What can I do?
The best way to deal with a negative review is to respond to it and explain to our visitors your point of view to set the record straight. You can respond to reviews directly if you have a free stable owner/manager account with us (see How do I manage my stable listing?). You can also encourage your satisfied customers to leave your barn positive reviews, which will show our visitors what others think. If you feel the negative review violates our review guidelines, please contact us with a detailed explanation of how it does so.
I want a review removed, how do I go about it?
We only remove reviews that violate our review guidelines. If you feel such is the case, please contact us with a detailed explanation of how it violates those guidelines.
How do I respond to a review?
You can respond to reviews by logging into your stable owner/manager account and going to your stable listing page (don't have an account yet?). There is a button underneath each review that lets you post a response after clicking it.
How can I advertise on Horse Stable Review?
Please send an email to info AT horse stable review DOT com if you are interested in advertising on our website or if you would like to do a link exchange. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
Why did you make Horse Stable Review?
We created Horse Stable Review for several reasons. First, we wanted to bring some accountability into the horse boarding world. For too long have many stable owners been getting away with providing mediocre service to their customers. We wanted to create a central hub for horse boarders to voice their opinions on their current and former barns and share their experiences with fellow equestrians. Second, it was our goal to make it easier for horse owners to find new barns in their area in case they were looking for a better boarding opportunity. When we started there was no website that listed all barns in your vicinity on a nice big map and we wanted to change that. Finally, we wanted the good barns to get some well-deserved recognition and praise on the web for their hard work and excellent horse care.
