Pleasant Lake Farm is owned by Rust Lanpher and managed by Rusty Lanpher and Melissa Beckwith, offering a combined 50 years of equine experience and experience in both the showing and racing industries. They are both third generation horsemen and grew up working with and caring for a variety of horses.

Pleasant Lake Farm offers many options for boarding, training, and an affordable riding program. We are located only minutes from the Penobscot Pony Club barn, multiple barns that regularly host clinics and shows, Bangor Raceway, and I-95 making the option of training and showing off the grounds that much closer. We are also located only minutes from Bangor and Newport!

What I like:
Melissa and boarders welcomed me to their farm like they've known me for years. Their boarders are happy and nice and the horses are all friendly and fat. I'm moving to Maine from New Jersey after a nasty divorce that has taken it's toll on me and my horse. The atmosphere at this barn is refreshing, encouraging, and relaxed. It's just what my horse and I need after our horrible ordeal. At a time in my life when many things are uncertain and starting over is hard, I believe I have found a safe place for my horse and I to continue our emotional healing and believe I have found friends in Melissa and her other wonderful boarders. Looking forward to moving on with the help of Pleasant Lake Farm.
What needs improvement:
Can't wait until they have a real barn. They make what they have work, but a real barn would be great.

What I like:
I rode with Melissa when she taught at Beckwith Stables. After a couple years of riding with bad instructors that couldn't tell me what I should be doing and why Melissa fixed the bad habits I picked up at other barns and made me a better rider. If it wasn't for her I would have quit riding because I wasn't any good until I rode with her. I just wish she hadn't moved to a barn so far away.
What needs improvement:
You need to move back here closer to Rockland. All of your old lesson kids miss you!
Stable Owner's Response:
I miss all of you too and hope to see you showing this year!
