What I like: Affordable rates, they had large pastures, free choice hay, horses were mostly at a good weight (some slightly overweight), automatic waterers, set up was for convenience of horse care takers and comfort of most horses. They have good ideas for their rescue and will help out those in need. |
What needs improvement: I would like to see better cleaning practices and more stalls added to barn in case of bad weather. Above all else I'd like to see them develop better people skills.
Run-ins were always dirty. There were only two stalls in barn and about 13-15 horses on the farm. Run-ins were considered their main shelters. The two stalls were always clean.
Barn owners talked down too and treated boarders like they were completely clueless regardless of boarders' experience (wasn't the right way to treat ANY boarder regardless). I've also noticed that they do tend to bad-mouth former boarders on forums, even some of those that left on good terms. |
