What I like: This is the only place in the area I would consider boarding at. Some of the other places are ok but this place is pristine and well managed. They are always keeping up on repairs and mantenance. Each year they seem to tackle new projects and are always willing to listen to customer suggestions. They resolve issues quickly. It is also a safe place because they have a good security system and locked tack rooms. |
What needs improvement: Not much to say really. Most things that are an issue are resolved quickly once the owners become aware. They recently increased their rates some but they are still avg or low for the area. They just totally upgraded the barn my horse is in so I'm not complaining. |

What I like: This stable is excellent in its care of horses and the environment, and is extremely consistent as well. Horses come in/out at set times, and can get accustomed to the routine and have plenty of outdoor pasture. SSF has multiple stall options (heated/non-heated), large tack areas, is clean, and SSF helps to park trailers (can just "drop" them off when you're done).
SSF keeps an eye on the horses and communicates well with owners.
The barn is friendly to multiple levels and types of riding (very advanced to very novice, games, English, Western, trail).
My daughter likes the fact that she can ride any time (even late in the evening).
The place is picturesque, too. |
What needs improvement: Any problem that shows up seems to be dealt with in a professional and timely manner.... so anything I mention here would probably be "fixed" before anyone even reads it!!!! |

What I like: Very well maintained. I have a horse that is a hard keeper in the winter. She is doing well at holding her weight this year. There is plenty of hay outside for them to eat all day. Also, there is plenty of room for them to run around and play. |
What needs improvement: There is always little odd jobs that need to be done, but can't think of any specific problem that needs to be improved. |

What I like: I was at Strohfus Stock Farm for many years and only left because I sold my horse. I found the facilities to be excellent and very well maintained. They cater to all diciplines and are not exclusive. Also, I loved the way they did their billing system as it was much more fair to all. I think the rates were on the low side when compared to other stables who charged more and had less to offer. |
What needs improvement: Nothing in my opinion. |

What I like: It was extremely clean and well run. The facilities were always kept up, horses were fed quality hay and grain. Owners were always open to suggestions for improvement and responded quickly. |
What needs improvement: There were not a lot of rules which was a good and bad thing. It was nice to not have a lot of restrictions but some of the more inexperienced riders could have benefitted from a bit more structure. |
