What I like: My daughter and I have learned more than at any other stable and we have ridden at a few. I have never known of a stable that had so many lesson horses and they are all nice. Most places pressure you to buy and board/show a horse after a few lessons. Some of the horses are seniors but I appreciate that - they are well-trained, safe horses for my kids. We have been treated very well and very fairly. We have had a few experiences with "horse people" and almost left the sport until we found this place. Honest, a breath of fresh air. |
What needs improvement: Because I am familiar with this farm from many years ago, I appreciate the improvements that have been made over the years. Not many barns have made it through the recession; they are to be commended. |

What I like: Facility has potential. Nice trails and fields to ride in. Good location. |
What needs improvement: The turnover rate of instructors, barn managers, and barn staff at this facility is outrageous. While I was at the barn I had five (!) different instructors. It is very difficult to learn when you are constantly be taught by different people who have very different methods.
The majority of the horses are old and almost all of them have heaves and the footing in both the indoor and the outdoor ring is very dusty so they are coughing all of the time. You are also not allowed to jump above 2ft (barn policy), not that any of the lesson horses could do that if you wanted to.
The prices are the most expensive you will find anywhere especially for a barn that does not have well qualified instructors. Also make sure you read all of your paperwork VERY carefully before signing because the owner loves to charge for things you don't even know about.
For anyone looking for a well run lesson barn where you will learn a lot, I highly suggest going someplace else. |

What I like: The trainer at the time was very competant and sweet. |
What needs improvement: The owner has a notorious reputation and my experience was no different. She said that we owed her money when we didn't and couldn't give us details to support the money she said we owe'd her. It also always felt like we were working on the lessons horses verus ourselves. They needed some more solid lesson horses to be able to focus on the rider's position and advancement. |
