What I like:
This stable has the potential to be a very nice and profitable boarding facility. It features a lovely bank barn and beautiful pasture, which, with the proper renovations, could be made into a lovely place for horses and their owners.
What needs improvement:
This stable, first of all, could use a change of ownership. The people currently responsible for the care of the horses are completely incompetent and ineligible to run a boarding facility. I have never before boarded at a stable where the safety and care of the paying boarder's horses came second to that of the owner's horses. With that said, the barn on the property is an old cow barn (ca. 1700's) that could use major remodeling to make it useful for horses. The fencing on the property (currently a combination of several different types of wire, including barbed) needs to be replaced in order to make the place safe for horses who need to be kept in secure fencing. This facility would also benefit from the creation of several smaller paddocks (rather than one large one) to enable horses to be separated according to gender and personality type.A lesson in proper ring maintenance and perhaps the installation of footing into the ring would also be beneficial to the facility. Currently, this barn is less than suitable to safely contain horses and provide an effective area for riders and their mounts to train and ride. However, with the proper renovations and a manager with the knowledge, time, and finances to properly run a boarding facility, it would not be a bad place to keep horses.
