What I like:
I arrived in May with my first horse, and he and I both love it. I recently bought a second horse who has been here for approximately one month as well. Windy Hill is very clean and well organized. The communication among management and boarders is excellent. You can be assured that your horse will get the best care possible here. There are many new improvement projects currently going on at Windy Hill, and it will only make my horses' life here all the better. This place is heaven for my two horses. Plus, the reasonable cost of boarding allows me to actually keep two horses, which is great!
What needs improvement:
There are ongoing improvements currently being done. Including fencing in of new pasture, and adding electric/water lines to pastures. I can't ask for anything more!

I recently moved to this barn with my horse and the owners and barn manager were extremely welcoming and helpful with the transition. And, there is great communication between the barn manager and boarders through e-mail. The barn is neat and clean and organized. The indoor and outdoor arenas are spacious and well kept. There are great trails and beautiful scenery everywhere. My horse is happy!!!

Large pastures, Routine schedule for horses, clean now that there is no awful CO-OP.
What needs improvement:
No trainer on site. Small indoor. Not many people around. Most horses here are either retired or trail horses. Impossible driveway during winter conditions.

What I like:
The barn is kept very neat, clean and organized; rings and pastures are well-maintained, all stalls have dutch doors, great quality home-grown hay, heated water buckets, blanket changing, excellent communication including email updates regarding barn/horse schedules during inclement weather days and for vet and farrier appointments - all included in a reasonable boarding cost. Management is very knowledgable and helpful. Both owners and management are very cheerful and make many extra efforts to assure that everyone is satisfied. A really nice place to board.
What needs improvement:
No major improvements needed.

What I like:
Pasture, cleanliness, consistant time schedule, cheap.
What needs improvement:
I moved my horse midway through the monthbecause another boarder informed me the turn-in person was abusing my horse which reflected in his odd behaviour after moving to this barn. I have since spent over $1500 in vet bills and ulcer medication to get my horse back to normal. The barn hand screams at paying customers. Farm owners know nothing about horses and there is no on sight managment more than a few hours per week. Was the worst 6 weeks of my life and my horses life. I feel very guilty for ever subjecting my horse to this mismanaged place with a irrational and bad tempered stall cleaner. Wish I knew how to file suit for my lost monies. I strongly suggest avoiding this farm. It's only real asset is the low price.
Stable Owner's Response:
With much reluctance and against the advice of outside sources, we allowed this owner/horse to move into WH. This horse arrived with many “seasoned” vices (cribbing, weaving, aggression in turnout, etc.). The owners’ lack of knowledge of such vices and how to maintain a horse with them is this horses’ biggest enemy. Not to mention the destruction to our facility (stall doors, walls, run in shed, buckets, etc). The fact this owner/horse have been in five (5) different barns in the last six (6) months speaks volumes. We are extremely fortunate their duration of stay at WH was limited to six (6) weeks.

What I like:
I was at the barn when the Co Op was in place and no it did not work but, some of us stuck it out to see our wonderful Windy Hill grow into just what it should be a wonderful place for your horse to live. I cant say enough about the improvements my horse has made since coming there.....His weight, coat, feet, personaility.....He is so Happy its amazing.

Excellent Hay, Top Notch Grain, Trails, Family Atmosphere, Gread Bedding, Clean Stalls, Ample Storage, Great Management Team in Place. Indoor and Outdoor Ring. Clean Barn, Pastures, Clean Fresh Water always inside and out. Horses needs are a priority if they need more they get more and if they need less they get less, whatever works for your horse. Great detail is taken to meet each horses individual needs.
What needs improvement:
Nothing in my book we are headed into a wonderful future at Windy Hill.

What I like:
Excellent pasture, easy access to trails, decent rings but could be bigger. Stalls are kept clean.
What needs improvement:
There is a Co-op that is rude and unreasonable. People are not pleasant and would make for a difficult place to keep your hors.
Stable Owner's Response:
Windy Hill is no longer and coop and is now run under a management team. The new management team took over on 10/1/09. Yes, I must agree, the coop did not work and change was required. All current boarders are very pleased with the change and we are having a consistent flow of new boarders arriving. I apologize for your previous experience with Windy Hill and would like to offer you an invitiation to visit the farm under the new management.
