What I like: Nice people, great care of the horses, my trainer is wonderful, it's quiet, close in, large indoor arena, good quality feed, easy going atmosphere. I can leave my horse without worrying while I'm away. Not sure what prompted the previous review - yes they charge for turnout but that isn't unusual and a lot of owners don't want their horses turned out so it keeps the basic board down for them, no there isn't any additional charge for 'better' quality feed. Everyone gets the same feed. We have lots of long time residents living and being ridden into their late 20s and 30s and looking great! It can't be an unhealthy place. |
What needs improvement: It IS an older barn and the paddocks do get muddy during the winter but the alternative is to not have horses turned out in them. Welcome to the northwest! |

What I like: When I boarded there, I liked the lounge and indoor arena. People who do self care and are there every day seem to do fine. |
What needs improvement: Just about everything. 1) You had to pay about $20 extra per week for 3 day/week turnout in muddy, tiny turnouts. 2) Feeding- they feed crappy, cheap hay with no nutritional value. You have to pay more on top of the boarding fee for the better hay. 3) They do not clean the stalls everyday...you're lucky if they clean them every three days. 4) small, dark stalls. 5) about half the barn is rented by a local saddleseat trainers. these trainers students hog the arena (5-6 horses/riders plus at least one pulling a cart...) from morning to evening. If you want to actually use the arena to train, get there really early or really late. |
